Day 6: The Wound and the First Promise

Genesis 2:4-3:24 and Psalm 130 (131 modern) · Douay-Rheims

The promise in Eden (Gen 3:15) — the first Advent hope.

Today's reading

Genesis 2:4-3:24 — The Wound and the First Promise

God did not make man the way He made everything else. Light, sea, stars — He spoke and they were. Man He knelt down for. "And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). Mud and the breath of God. You are both. You have always been both.

Psalm 130 (131 modern) — The Weaned Man

Three verses. That is the whole psalm. A fighting king's name is on it.
