— Rosarium B.M.V. —

The Visual Rosary.
The Church's weapon, given back.

The Rosary as Pope St. Pius V wielded it at Lepanto, and as the men who built Christendom prayed it every night. With sacred art rendered for the man who wants to see what he is meditating on.

Four sets of mysteries. Twenty paintings, complete. Each card is the version we wished existed when we needed it. Theologically sourced, historically faithful, never sentimental. The Visual Rosary is live — pray the full chaplet, all four sets.

How to Pray the Holy Rosary

Three movements: Opening, the Five Decades, Closing. Carthusians anchored the modern form. Pope St. Pius V wielded it at Lepanto. Every Catholic family that lasted across hard centuries kept it.

I. Opening Prayers

On the crucifix and the first five beads of the Rosary, before the mysteries begin:

  1. Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
  2. The Apostles' Creed (on the crucifix). I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
  3. One Our Father (on the first large bead). Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
  4. Three Hail Marys (on the next three small beads) — for the increase of the three theological virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity. One Hail Mary per intention. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
  5. One Glory Be. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

II. The Five Decades

For each of the five decades — one decade per mystery in the chosen set (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, or Luminous):

  1. Announce the mystery. Briefly meditate on the event (Annunciation, Nativity, Crucifixion, Resurrection, etc.). The Sanctum Visual Rosary's Pray Mode displays the sacred painting full-screen as the visual anchor.
  2. One Our Father on the large bead at the start of the decade.
  3. Ten Hail Marys — one per small bead in the decade. Meditate on the mystery as you pray. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
  4. One Glory Be.
  5. The Fatima Prayer ("O My Jesus") — taught by Our Lady to the children at Fatima in 1917. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

Repeat for the Second through Fifth Mystery — each decade following the same Our Father → ten Hail Marys → Glory Be → O My Jesus pattern.

III. Closing Prayers

After the fifth decade is complete:

  1. The Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina). Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
  2. Let Us Pray — the closing prayer of the Rosary. O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life: grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
  3. Sign of the Cross (close). In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Per Mariam ad Iesum.
Through Mary, to Jesus.
