Day 3: The Coal and the Sign
Isaias 6:1–7:25 and Psalm 25 (26 modern) · Douay-Rheims
Today's reading
Isaias 6:1–7:25 — The Coal and the Sign
The king is dead. Ozias sat on the throne fifty-two years. Now he is in the ground, the nation is nervous, and that is the year Isaias walks into the temple and the roof comes off.
Psalm 25 (26 modern) — Clean Hands at the Altar
Isaias had his mouth burned clean before he could speak. This psalm is the same movement, one step lower: a man washes his hands before he walks up to the altar.
