Psalm 3 (3 modern) — Surrounded, and He Slept
David is running for his life. His own son has taken the throne and wants him dead. He goes up the ascent of mount Olivet "going up and weeping, walking barefoot, and with his head covered" (2 Kings 15:30) — a king with no city, an army that just changed sides, and a boy at the head of the men hunting him.
